Jobylon named a Red Herring Europe Top 100 Finalist

Jobylon, the Stockholm based startup focusing on disrupting the recruitment space by crowdsourcing candidates through finder’s fees, announced today that it was selected as a Finalist for Red Herring’s Top 100 Europe award, a prestigious list honoring the year’s most promising private technology ventures from the European business region.

The Red Herring editorial team selected the most innovative companies from a pool of hundreds from across Europe. The nominees are evaluated on 20 main quantitative and qualitative criterion: they include disruptive impact, market footprint, proof of concept, financial performance, technology innovation, social value, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration into their respective industries.

This unique assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the actual track record and standing of a company, which allows Red Herring to see past the “buzz” and make the list a valuable instrument for discovering and advocating the greatest business opportunities in the industry.

“This year was rewarding, beyond all expectations” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “The global economic situation has abated and there are many great companies producing really innovative and amazing products. We had a very difficult time narrowing the pool and selecting the finalists. Jobylon shows great promise and therefore deserves to be among the Finalists. Now we’re faced with the difficult task of selecting the Top 100 winners of Red Herring Europe. We know that the 2013 crop will grow into some amazing companies that are sure to make an impact.”

Besides Jobylon’s social job board, which currently targets the Swedish and Norwegian market, the company recently released a social app, Jobylon Bounty, which turns everyone in to a headhunter. The app uses a matching algorithm in order to connect your connections to different jobs, each job having a Finder’s fee assigned to it. If the suggested matches looks good, one can easily send a job recommendation to a friend, thus getting one step closer of getting the reward.

“To be a finalist for Red Herring Top 100 is a great way for Jobylon to gain international awareness”, said Aref Abedi, CEO of Jobylon. “In many ways, we haven’t even started. The Finalists are invited to present their winning strategies at the Red Herring Europe Forum in Amsterdam, April 8-10, 2013. The Top 100 winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony the evening of April 10 at the event.

In this blog post, we’d like to describe a bit more how it works to send a job referral through Jobylon Bounty.

Finding the right job is hard – and for companies, hiring is tedious work. But you know a lot of great people and they all have a great set of skills. Jobylon Bounty is a fun and social way to connect your friends to fantastic job opportunities and getting rewarded for it.

This is how it works.

1. Login with your Facebook Account

Go to jobylon.com and log in with your Facebook account. We know that sending job recommendations to your network can be sensitive and we take your privacy seriously. Therefore, we will never post anything on your social networks that will reveal any names of people you’ve referred to employers.

2. Send a job referral

When logged in, you are presented with a list of jobs, each job with a great reward attached to it.

We do the hard work to match your friends and the jobs that they’re most suited for. In just one click you make a personal recommendation and a private message is sent to your friend via Facebook. You are of course welcome to recommend any contact, even if it’s not a suggestion.

Invite more friends to Jobylon Bounty and you’ll get access to their circle of friends as well, which makes life even easier and increases your chances to receive a Bounty.

3. Responding to your job referral

All job referrals are sent as a private Facebook message to the user. The message sent will include a link to the job ad so the referred candidate can look through the ad and let us know if he/she is interested in the job. If so, the candidate will accept the referral before details are sent to the employer. We will keep you in the loop!

So if you stumble upon a job where you start thinking “Hmm, this would be perfect for my friend but I’m not sure if he’s looking for a job?”, don’t worry! Just send your job referral and your friend will decide if it’s interesting or not.

4. Get a reward when hired!

After accepting your recommendation, the candidate’s details will be forwarded to the employer and a process will be initiated. If that process leads to a hire, you will get the reward!

The company gets a new employee to their team, your friend gets a career boost and you get a reward for helping out.

It’s a win-win-win!

Finally, we’re live!!! :-)

The last months have been an amazing time for us. It’s been filled with a lot of hard work, fun, frustration and problem solving. Until today, Jobylon has mainly been a full-blown social career site, with the main purpose of simplifying the job seeking process for a lot of people.

Today we’re launching Jobylon Bounty!

So check it out and start Bounty Hunting! Who knows, you might be one click away from a great reward! Just last week we paid out a whopping amount of 15,000kr to one of our Bounty Hunters!
